Starting July 1st, every household in Oregon may grow four cannabis plants. Let’s all be careful to be a good neighbor and avoid the uncontrolled release of pollen. The cannabis plant comes in two flavors male and female, (monoecious and dioecious) telling the difference is not difficult. The female makes the flowers that are so highly prized, the male makes pollen. The pollen can float on the wind and should any viable grains land on those little white or pink hairs (pistils) seeds will begin to form in the flowers. Sometimes a plant goes both ways this is called a hermaphrodite.
